Wan Li Great Wall scenic spot, the earliest village in the city to develop folk tourism, don't come and see!

The Great Wall is one of the world-famous wonders. It lies like a dragon on the vast land in the north of China. It is the crystallization of the wisdom of the ancient working people in China, the symbol of the ancient culture of China and the pride of the Chinese nation. As a part of the Great Wall of Wan Li, Simatai Great Wall was listed in the World Heritage List in 1987, and it is the only ancient building site in China that retains the original appearance of the Ming Dynasty.

Simatai Great Wall belongs to the Great Wall of Jizhen Town in Ming Dynasty, which is centered on Gubeikou. It was specially built to guard Gubeikou, and it is a section of the Great Wall that guards the important military pass of Gubeikou. Speaking of Gubeikou, located in the southeast of Gubeikou Town, Miyun County, Beijing, it has been an important Great Wall fortress between Shanhaiguan and Juyongguan since ancient times. It is the "throat" of Liaodong Plain and Inner Mongolia leading to the Central Plains. It has always been a battleground for military strategists. The Gubeikou Great Wall, composed of Wohushan Great Wall, Panlong Mountain Great Wall, Jinshanling Great Wall and Simatai Great Wall, is also the most complete Great Wall system in the history of China Great Wall.

The Simatai Great Wall is built along the ridge, with dangerous rocks, dangerous streams, dangerous buildings with isolated peaks, and dangerous hanging walls. It's really a steep cliff that crosses the Great Wall, and it's even more dangerous to run the dragon through the hanging rocks, especially the ladder and the overpass. The ladder is a single-sided Great Wall, with steep slopes and narrow walls, with the narrowest part less than half a meter. It rises along the mountain in a straight ladder shape, and there are steep cliffs on both sides, which makes people afraid to squint. This is the most dangerous section of the Great Wall in Ming Dynasty. In the 1985 Beijing Tourism Development Strategic Plan, this landscape was named "Wan Li Great Wall Scenic Spot", which is not worthy of praise.

# Yaoqiao Castle

An ancient castle guarding an old village. Yaoqiaoyu Village, located in Xinchengzi Town, Miyun, is located in an ancient castle, which has been well preserved for hundreds of years. Relying on this feature of the castle, Yaoqiaoyu Village has become one of the earliest villages in the city to develop folk tourism.

Previously, the castle was inhabited by the descendants of 50 Ming dynasty border guards, that is, the ancestors of the villagers in Yaoqiaoyu. Later, with the increase of the population in the village, some villagers gradually moved to live outside the ancient castle, but the ancient castle has been well preserved. Nowadays, every morning and evening, many villagers still board the castle and walk around the village along the city wall, overlooking the whole village.
