Hong kong and Macao's own travel strategy

Blog / 11/11/2024

Macao is a tiny place, but it attracts tourists from all over the world.

Although Macao is small, it is a city with strong cultural exchanges between the East and the West, which blends the Asian and European customs just right.

Walking on the streets of Macao, you can see the distinctive Portuguese architecture everywhere, which makes you feel like you are in a small town in Europe, and every scene has witnessed the history of this city.

Before I went to Macao, I had been given friendly guidance by director Pisces, a blogger in Macao, for more than N times online. Even helped me write down a detailed itinerary, specifically to which pier to board the ship and where to play every day.

This photo was taken standing in front of the window of the hotel room, with city of dreams outside.

I booked the Hard Rock Hotel online. I chose this hotel not because I have any rock music plot, but because Pisces said that many hotels in Macau are old and I don't like to stay in old hotels. This hotel is new and in a good location, right in city of dreams. The Venetian Hotel is directly opposite.

Complete introduction to Macao tourism

One: Transportation

I went to Macau by boat from Hong Kong. If you don't make a special trip to gamble, then I think Hong Kong and Macau are good choices for small holidays. Moreover, it is very convenient to travel from Hong Kong to Macau. By the way, you need to do Macao once and Hong Kong twice when you apply for endorsement. For articles on Hong Kong tourism, please refer to more previous articles on blogs.

Earlier, I made an appointment with the president of New Zealand Yijiyou to meet at the Asia-Pacific Natural Food Exhibition in Hong Kong to discuss the next cooperation. So I went to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center first. After talking about things, take the subway directly to the Hong Kong and Macao Wharf in Sheung Wan, where there is a boat to Macau.

There are two wharves in Macao, one is the New Hong Kong-Macao Wharf, and the other is the Bei 'an Passenger Terminal in DangZai. Because I live in Hard Rock, which is near Taizai, I chose to take a boat ticket to Bei 'an Ferry Terminal. Each ticket is 115 Hong Kong dollars.

After the ship arrived in Macau, there were hotels waiting at the gate of the passenger terminal. It's only about 5 minutes' journey from Bei 'an Ferry Terminal to Hard Rock Hotel. At the same time, the free cars in these hotels also have various routes to take you to various casinos and attractions.

On the way back to Hong Kong, there is a direct boat to the Hong Kong airport. For a 40-50-minute trip, a ticket is 120 patacas (more than 300 yuan will be charged when buying a ticket, and the airport will handle the tax refund). I think this boat is very convenient, but I don't know why there are so few tourists. There are only a few people on a boat. I wonder if it will be cancelled in the future.

Two: entertainment

Macau is very small, and you can basically visit it in two days. According to the friendly guidance of Pisces, this is our arrangement.

Day 1: New Road, Fountain, Buss, Mazu Tempel, Novo Lisboa Casino, Wynn Hotel (Music Fountain, auspicious tree).

The next day: Venetian (casino, Grand Canal Shopping Center), Gongye Street, Bunker Street, and Andrew Egg Tart New Lisboa Casino all sold their first letters along the way to the Grand Sanba. Moreover, they can all be tasted for free. I'm full after eating all the way!

Macao people collectively refer to the special products as "handwritten letters". Of course, most of them are food, and the famous ones include sesame cakes, almond cakes, preserved meat and peanut candy. Memorabilia, Huang Ji, Li Ji, etc., each store provides our products for visitors to try for free, almond cake, dried pork, beef jerky, phoenix roll … … All the way down, I have eaten half full. Crossing Shouxin Street, you can see the St. Paul's archway far away.

The St. Paul's archway is one of the symbols of Macao, which is actually the remains of the front wall of St. Paul's church. This church has an indissoluble bond with fire. From its prototype to the only existing front archway, it has experienced three fires and been built repeatedly, witnessing a living history.

The building of St. Paul's Church is a combination of European Renaissance architecture and oriental architecture. It combines Chinese and western architecture and is exquisitely carved. The cost of the St. Paul's archway alone reached 32,000 silver 300 years ago. Visiting the St. Paul's archway, in addition to enjoying the majestic front wall, the exquisite relief on the archway is also of special significance. Step by step from the top of the archway, first there is a cross high above, and then it is divided into three layers. A bronze statue is hidden in the niche of each layer, which was cast by the gun factory in Macao's early years. Under the cross is a pigeon-shaped bronze statue, which is said to represent the holy spirit. The statue is surrounded by stone carvings of the sun, the moon and the stars, symbolizing the moment when the virgin is pregnant. Beneath the bronze pigeon is a statue of Jesus' infant, next to which is engraved a tool for crucifying Jesus. Standing on the archway overlooking, you can see the bustling new road and the bustling Shouxin Street.

Walking past the bus, and then climbing the stairs, are the Macao Museum and the battery. Macao has a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery.

After walking down the mountain, it takes only about 10 minutes to walk along the new road to the Lisboa Casino.

You can't really go to Macau without experiencing Macau's gambling and entertainment. Macau's gambling industry is world-famous, and it is known as the "gambling port".

The main types of gambling industry in Macao are lucky gambling, dog racing, horse racing and pigeon tickets (lottery tickets). There are nine casinos, including the Palace Casino, Holiday Casino, Splendid Casino and Warrior Casino, and some are located in Portugal, Mandarin Oriental, Jinyu, Hyatt and New Century Hotel, all of which are open 24 hours a day. You can experience it at any time, enter and leave freely, and there is no admission fee. Just, it's best not to bring bags and photographic equipment.

Generally, there are the following gambling items in entertainment places: Baccarat, Blackjack, Roulette, French Roulette, Fantan, Size and Silver Shaker. There is a sign hanging at the entrance and exit of the casino, which says, "Gambling can't win. Pay attention to your feelings, play with spare money and keep entertainment". All casinos are operated by Macau Tourism and Entertainment Co., Ltd., so the rules of all casinos are the same. Casinos only accept bets in MOP or HKD. If tourists hold foreign currency, they can exchange it at a nearby change shop or bank.

Three: food

Macao cuisine has both eastern and western characteristics, reflecting the diversity and inclusiveness of local life. Coffee shops, fast food restaurants, Chinese and western cake shops, food stalls and food stalls abound. Macao can be said to be "the epitome of a gourmet paradise", because it blends Chinese and western cuisines, so when you go to Macao, you must eat all kinds of Macao cuisines. The restaurant that Pisces took me to eat is the Portuguese restaurant at the new port. I would also like to thank the director of fish in particular, which cost a lot of money!

When you come to Macau, you must taste the famous Portuguese food, but to be honest, most of the Portuguese food in Macau has been improved and properly integrated into the cooking techniques of Africa, India, Thailand, Malaysia and China and Guangdong, which is more suitable for oriental tastes. Among them, the most famous dishes are: Portuguese chicken, Ma Jiexiu, curry crab and roasted salted pig's hands, etc. … …

This is Portuguese chicken fast food in the casino.

Yishun double skin milk and ginger milk are delicious but have to be tasted.

Macao's milk tea is a little different from Hong Kong's. Sugar water and light milk are added by guests at their own discretion.

Rua do Cunha in Taizai is a small street about 60 meters long. When we arrived, it was in the morning, and there were few tourists, which was not as prosperous as expected. When you walk to the street corner, you will smell a thick durian. It turned out that it was Moyiji durian ice cream on the street! I have long heard of Mo Yiji's famous name, which turned out to be such a humble stall.

The famous durian ice cream and poplar nectar. Yang Zhi Gan Lu is not as good as Hong Kong Man Ji dessert, and durian ice cream makes people linger!

Macao people usually have breakfast while reading newspapers. The content of breakfast is very similar to Hongkong, such as milk tea, toast, pig bag and so on.

I ate pig bag in a small shop in Rua do Cunha. It was very good. It was crispy outside and soft inside, and the pork chop was delicious! I heard that pig bag, the Italian restaurant in Tianhou Palace, is the most famous. Unfortunately, I didn't know it at that time. I didn't go to that street until I finished eating!

Walking through Rua do Cunha, it is the Tianhou Palace, and there are also many famous Macao snacks. I saw that the itinerary given to me by Pisces said: Andrew egg tart. I thought it was not far away, so I waved a taxi and got on the bus and said to the driver: Go to Andrew's egg tart! Later, I learned that it's actually not close, so I have to take a taxi to 50 yuan! However, Pisces said that Andrew's old egg tart is the best in Macau, and it is still worth trying! It is said that Andrew will open a branch in the Venetian in the near future, which will be convenient!

It took 100 yuan to take a taxi back and forth, just to eat this egg tart from 7 yuan!

Other snacks in the store are also very good, but they claim to contain no additives. I bought a whole wheat bread and felt a little dry the next day. It seems that there is no additive at all! Real goods!

After eating the egg tart, we bought some more packages and flew them back to Beijing directly!

The most attractive auspicious tree performance of Wynn Hotel. A large crystal lamp went down, and then a colorful "auspicious tree" rose slowly from the ground. Soft music was playing in the venue, and at the same time, the canopy above the head also showed different striped patterns. Finally, "auspicious tree" returned to the underground, and the canopy was put away by the glittering barrier engraved with the Chinese zodiac, which was mysterious, traditional, classical and magnificent, attracting a large number of tourists to watch and take photos as a souvenir.

I really like the scenery in Wynn, and I enjoy eating here!

1. Hong Kong and Macao play strategy

Hong kong:

For example, it takes one day for Disney and Ocean Park, half a day for the Peak and Wax Museum, one day for Lantau Island, and at least one day for Lamma Island, an outlying island in Hong Kong. If the shopping is arranged for at least one day, then the things mentioned above will take at least five days to walk.

Macau:

The tourism industry in Macao and the United States is better than that in Hong Kong, especially its nightlife is rich. Hong Kong's scenic spots are all classic, such as Golden Bauhinia Square, Statue Square, Victoria Harbour, Avenue of Stars, Disney, Ocean Park, Stanley, Lantau Island and Lamma Island. Most tourists will choose to stay in Hong Kong for a few more days.

4 nights in Hong Kong and 2 nights in Australia.

The strategy is as follows:

When you apply for a visa, you must remember to bring the original ID card and household registration book. It's best to take photos on the spot, so as to save yourself the trouble of finding a good photo to apply for a certificate. The certificate will be issued in about a week, so it's better to do it in advance. Don't arrange the time too tightly.

Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, where I live, is a non-free city. We must pay attention to this. If you want to go to Macao, you can sign with Hong Kong and Macao. Please note that the re-endorsement must be valid for more than half a year if you already have a pass! I won. Don't go with any tour group. Don't worry, friends in Tang-Fei free travel area. You can't do anything as long as you want to go.

Get a pass to the port. There are many travel agencies that handle L-sign and customs clearance. You can ask any travel agency that handles customs clearance services to make an offer and ask him to take you through customs clearance. In fact, it is just to put you into a tour group and send you back by yourself. Generally, the price is clearly marked around 100 yuan, and we price 50 yuan/person. The Internet says that at least 20 yuan can send it through customs. I haven't met it.

Travel agencies seeking customs clearance

With the feeling of starting, start a wonderful, beautiful and economical journey with me ~ hehe!

First of all, I got up in the morning and went to the Bank of China to change some Macao dollars and Hong Kong dollars, but I can also change them at the customs clearance. But I think the bank is more reliable ~ when I went there, the foreign exchange was not enough, and the person in charge was very kind, so I specially transferred some foreign currency from other branches, and finally I changed it. I suggest you change some small change in advance. However, when you swipe UnionPay cards in Hong Kong and Macao, there is no handling fee for credit cards. You can deduct money by directly converting the exchange rate of the day. It is very convenient to swipe your card!

At 11 am, leave Zhuhai and take a taxi to Gongbei Port. There are many good restaurants in Gongbei, and the prices are much cheaper than those in Macau. Then there are many small things in Gongbei. It is recommended to consider buying special products, which are cheap and rich in variety! There are all kinds of duty-free cigarettes, some of which are cheap and beautifully packaged, but you can't buy them anywhere else. It is also a good choice to take them back to others!

The customs clearance time at Gongbei Port is 07:00-24:00. It takes about 20~40 minutes to go from Zhuhai to Macau. Both sides of the border need to line up, at least 10 minutes! I suggest you get up early and go through the customs, otherwise there will be many people!

The next step is the fare after Macao's transit. I'm a poor tourist, so I don't have to spend a penny without spending money ~ ~ Haha, there are many tour buses passing through Macau. These are the pictures above, car ferry. Those buses are free, so you can take any kind of transportation. You can choose the bus in the direction you want to go in Macau.

Next, let's have a rest in the hotel first. The hotel directly booked by Zhuhai Travel Agency, the New Central Hotel in Macau, is really the cheapest hotel in Macau. You can stay in Isabella and 2046 Hotel for almost 100 patacas for one night ~ but the environment is not very good. I always take a pillow towel and sheets when I go out, so that no matter how bad the hotel is, I can have a good sleep!

Then, this new central hotel is my hotel, and the room is ok. It's very convenient to sell things on the busiest road in Macao ~ I met many shemale when I went there, which scared me to death, but I also thought it was quite fun ~ Then the elevators, stairs and bathrooms were all old, like back in the 1970s ~ ~ But I don't want luxury goods, as long as they are convenient, cheap and safe.

Shiliupu comprehensive leisure resort covers an area of more than 2.3 hectares and is located in Macao, an inner port city with a long history and culture.

There are five-star hotels, casinos, the first Michael Jackson Treasure Gallery in Asia, and a leisure and entertainment shopping center that will be completed soon.

Then I went to the famous fisherman s pier in macau ~ fortunately, I'm not hungry today. I've been looking for something special to eat all day, but what fisherman's restaurant is more expensive. S pier ~ Besides, I am a sister paper in Sichuan, where I buy everything I eat every day, and the price is only one tenth of that in Macau, so I will never spend money on eating Sichuan food.

2. Hong Kong and Macao travel guides overseas travel routes

Count out of the country.

Because the so-called overseas means that all places except Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macao are overseas, and traveling to Hong Kong is an outbound tour. But Hong Kong is a part of China, so the border of China includes Hong Kong and Macau.

To understand this. First of all, we should understand territory and territory (domestic): Territory generally refers to the area under the jurisdiction of a country or region, but in the official language of People People's Republic of China (PRC) (China) the United States, territory specifically refers to the people's territory of People's Republic of China (PRC) (People's Republic of China (PRC)), with the exception of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region, which have sovereignty over the people, People's Republic of China (PRC) (People's Republic of China (PRC)) and Taiwan Province, claiming sovereignty, while all areas in People People's Republic of China (PRC) (China) are collectively referred to as countries that claim sovereignty.

In fact, the Hong Kong and Macao Pass is used to travel to and from Hong Kong and Macao, not a passport, which shows the difference. The Pass is issued by China itself, which is convenient for managing the population exchange between the Special Administrative Region and the Mainland.

3. Hong Kong and Macao Tourism Raiders

Hongkong and Macau are located in the Pearl River Delta region in the south of China, adjacent to Guangdong Province, and are the only two special administrative regions in China at present. Hong Kong and Macao are the richest places in China with developed economy and prosperous business. Then, since both places are special administrative regions of China, why is Macau less well-known than Hong Kong?

In fact, the division of special administrative regions is only the same grade, which does not mean that their comprehensive strength and popularity at home and abroad will be comparable. The biggest reason why Hongkong and Macau have become administrative regions at the same level in China is history. Both of them have similar historical background, which has nothing to do with popularity and comprehensive strength.

Macao used to be just a small fishing village, but after continuous development and reclamation, it has reached today's scale. It is a small city. So far, Macao has a total area of only 32 square kilometers and a total population of just over 600,000. Its area is equivalent to a town and its population is equivalent to a county.

Hong Kong has a total area of more than 1,100 square kilometers and a total population of more than 7.4 million. Both population and area are ten times or even dozens of times that of Macao. The scale and volume of the two are not at all the same level, so Macao is really too small compared with Hong Kong. Of course, the influence and reputation will be smaller.

On the other hand, the two industries are different, and their comprehensive strength is also very different. Macau is a small country in the United States, and there is no large deep-water harbor. It relies on relatively single entertainment, gambling and tourism to support social and economic development. In this way, its influence at home and abroad will not be too great.

Hong Kong is not only a world-famous tourist city, but also a global free trade port and one of the three international financial centers. In addition to highly developed tourism, there are also world-famous shipping and financial industries. At the same time, Hong Kong is a shopping paradise in the world, and its business is highly prosperous. Hong Kong also has a number of world-class universities, such as the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, which are world-renowned in the fields of education and scientific research. Hong Kong is a comprehensive city.

For the above reasons, some people say that Macao is not as well-known as Hong Kong, but this is actually the case. But both of them are part of 9.6 million square kilometers, and they are equally important, regardless of their weight.
