The five scenic spots that Yinchuan must visit are as follows:
1. Xixia Mausoleum, which is the royal mausoleum of Xixia Dynasty, is one of the largest imperial cemeteries with the most complete ground ruins in China, and is called the "Oriental Pyramid". Xixia Mausoleum is grand in scale and well-laid, and each mausoleum is an independent and complete architectural group.
2. Shuidonggou, the tourist area of Shuidonggou site is 19 kilometers away from Yinchuan City. It is the earliest Paleolithic cultural site excavated in China, and is known as "the birthplace of prehistoric archaeology in China". It is a Paleolithic site officially excavated in the Yellow River area in China so far.
Shuidonggou area is also the ancient Great Wall of Ming Dynasty in the north of China. The towers and piers, castle ramparts and Tibetan soldiers caves constitute the most complete military defense architecture Grand View Garden in China.
3. Ningxia Museum, located in Yinchuan City, is a national first-class museum with nearly 40,000 pieces of cultural relics and 159 pieces of national first-class cultural relics. Among them, the stone tomb gate of Hu Xuanwu, the gilded bronze bull and the support of Lux Zhiwen were identified as national treasures.
4. Nanguan Mosque, located in the old town of Yinchuan, is one of the largest mosques in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in northern China. The mosque covers an area of about 10,000 square meters, with a building area of more than 2,000 square meters. The main building is 26 meters high.
Nanguan Mosque is not only a place for religious activities in Yinchuan and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, but also one of the famous tourist attractions in this region.
5. Chengtian Temple, located in the southwest of Yinchuan, is famous in western China. There is an ancient pagoda in the temple called Chengtian Temple Pagoda, which is the tallest of more than 100 existing pagodas in Ningxia and the only one in Ningxia with a documented date.
Chengtian Temple Tower is an octagonal 11-story pavilion-style brick tower with a height of 64.5 meters, which is 0.5 meters higher than the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi 'an. The tower room is a square space, and each floor in the room is a wooden floor structure with wooden ladders hovering up.
Yinchuan's interesting tourist attractions are recommended as follows:
1. Xixia Mausoleum National Archaeological Site Park. Xixia Mausoleum National Archaeological Site Park (also known as Xixia Mausoleum), located at the foot of Helan Mountain in the western suburbs of Yinchuan City, is the royal mausoleum of Xixia Dynasty and buried many emperors of Xixia Dynasty. At present, there are 9 Mausoleums and more than 140 buried tombs in the whole mausoleum area, which is one of the largest royal tombs in the history of China.
2. Rock paintings of Helan Mountain. The rock paintings of Helan Mountain are national key cultural relics protection units, national AAAA-level tourist attractions and art galleries of nomadic people in China. In ancient times, Helan Mountain was a place where northern minorities such as Xiongnu, Xianbei, Turkic, Uighur, Tubo and Tangut lived and hunted in animal husbandry.
They carved the scenes of production and life on the rocks of Helan Mountain to express their yearning and pursuit for a better life, and reproduced their aesthetics, social customs and life interests at that time. In the hinterland of Helan Mountain, which is more than 200 kilometers long from north to south, there are more than 20 remaining rock paintings. The most representative one is Helankou rock painting.
3. Three passes mark the Great Wall. The Ming Great Wall at Sanguankou is the junction of Ningxia and Alashan Zuoqi in Inner Mongolia. From east to west, Sanguankou is set with Toudaoka, Erdaoka and Sandaokaka, which is later called Sandao Pass. The mountains here are winding and the terrain is magnificent and steep. There was a pass in the valley between the two mountains.
4. Helanshan National Forest Park. Suyukou National Forest Park is located in Helanshan National Nature Reserve, 50 kilometers northwest of Yinchuan, the capital of Ningxia, with towering mountains, dense forests, beautiful natural scenery and unique human landscape. Covering an area of 9,300 hectares, with a vegetation coverage rate of 70%, it has more than 800 kinds of wild animal and plant resources and is a famous eco-tourism scenic spot in Ningxia.
5. Drum Tower. Yinchuan Drum Tower, also known as the Four Drum Towers, is a century-old ancient building in the downtown area. You can also see the night view of historic sites when looking for food. Built in the first year of Daoguang in Qing Dynasty, it is an ancient building of revolutionary significance. Located at the intersection of Jiefang East Street and Gulou North and South Street, near Yuhuangge and Xinhua Street Pedestrian Street. The building, with a total height of 36 meters, is built on a tall square abutment, with a hole-shaped cross passage under the abutment, which is connected with Jiefang East Street and Gulou North and South Street. There is a stone inscription on the forehead of the cave gate, which means "welcome to grace" in the east, "come to embalm" in the south, "cool" in the west and "arch pole" in the north.
6. Shuidonggou Tourist Area in Ningxia. Shuidonggou Ancient Human Culture Site is located in Shuidonggou Village, Linhe Town, lingwu city City, Ningxia, 30 kilometers south of lingwu city, 19 kilometers west of Yinchuan City, 11 kilometers away from Hedong Airport, and connected with Eqian Banner in Inner Mongolia in the north, covering an area of 7.8 square kilometers. Shuidonggou area was a sacred place for human beings to thrive 30 thousand years ago.
