Tour around Qinghai Lake

Qinghai Great Loop Tour Raiders route is as follows:

The first day. Starting from Xining, first visit the beautiful Qinghai Lake, then go to Chaka Salt Lake, experience the laudatory name of "the mirror of the sky", and arrive in Delingha for accommodation in the evening.

The next day. Depart from Delingha, go to Qaidam Basin, then arrive at Emerald Lake and Dachaidan, and enjoy the night view of Dachaidan at night.

The third day. Starting from Dachaidan, you can explore Yadan and Emerald Lake on the water via U-shaped highway, and you can stay in Dunhuang at night.

The fourth day. Visit the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang, go to the Crescent Spring in Mingsha Mountain in the afternoon, experience the lonely feeling of the desert, and taste delicious food at Shazhou Night Market in Dunhuang at night.

The fifth day. Depart from Dunhuang, go to Jiayuguan, then go to colorful Danxia in Zhangye, and stay in Zhangye at night.

Day six. Depart from Zhangye, go to Biandukou, and then arrive at Qilian Prairie to enjoy the beautiful grassland scenery.

The seventh day. Depart from Qilian Prairie, go to Menyuan Baili Rape Flower Sea (seasonal viewing in July and August), and finally return to Xining to end this beautiful journey.

If you plan to go to Qinghai Lake, you need to decide whether to choose a big loop or a small loop. It depends on your time and budget.

Qinghai Lake is the largest inland saltwater lake in China and the highest saltwater lake in the world. It is located in the northeast of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, surrounded by mountains. The scenery of Qinghai Lake is spectacular and it is one of the favorite destinations for tourists.

If you have enough time and budget, I suggest you choose the big loop. This route is about 400 kilometers, and it will take at least 2-3 days to complete. You will cross grasslands, deserts and plateau lakes and enjoy the most beautiful scenery of Qinghai Lake. The route of the Great Ring Road will first pass through Mangya and Qilian Mountains, then bypass Qinghai Lake and finally return to Xining City. You can also visit local temples, villages and towns to learn about local culture and history. On the Great Ring Road, you can see the unique ecological environment of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and feel its mystery and beauty. The scenic spots on the Great Ring Road include Chaka Salt Lake, Ta 'er Temple, Xiahe Grassland, Horseshoe Temple, Qinghai Lake Cycling, Chaka Town and so on.

If your time and budget are limited, you can choose the small loop line. This route is about 200 kilometers long and will take at least 1-2 days to complete. The route of the small ring road is in the northwest corner of Qinghai Lake, from Xining to Qinghai Lake, and then back to Xining City. You will see most of the scenery of Qinghai Lake and visit some local scenic spots and villages. However, you will miss some of the most beautiful sights and experiences. The scenic spots on the small ring line include Chaka Mountain, Chaka Salt Lake and Qinghai Lake Riding.

No matter which route you choose, you need to pay attention to altitude sickness and weather changes. Please always pay attention to the weather forecast and bring enough clothes and medicine. During the tour, you can try local delicacies, such as Qinghai beef noodles, Ciba, mutton kebabs, yogurt, Qinghai cakes and so on.
