China and Beijing connect the Great Wall, the red memorial site and the traditional village Gubeikou in series, and the 16-kilometer Great Wall visit route will run through!
After four years of construction, the Beijing section of the Great Wall National Cultural Park has added new highlights. Before October this year, the three theme routes for visiting the Great Wall culture in Gubeikou Town, Miyun District, such as "Road to Victory", "National Anthem Great Wall" and "Magnificent Mountains and Rivers", will all be completed, with a total length of about 16 kilometers running through, connecting the Great Wall, red memorial sites and traditional villages in series.
In the process of climbing the Great Wall, you can hear the stories of the Great Wall at different points by taking out your mobile phone and "sweeping it". In the Great Wall Cultural Scenic Spot in Panlong Mountain, Gubeikou Town, the Great Wall Cultural Logo Interpretation Board is set up according to the situation. Visitors can experience self-guided tours and learn about the history, construction process and protection technology of the Great Wall.
"This Great Wall cultural logo interpretation system is the first in China." Ru Chen, deputy mayor of Gubeikou Town, introduced that in 2020, Gubeikou Town started to build a theme route for visiting the Great Wall culture, and further protected and displayed the Great Wall heritage through measures such as excavating historical value, upgrading the Great Wall Trail and setting up a sign system. At present, the two projects of "Road to Victory" and "National Anthem Great Wall" have been completed and opened, connecting the red cultural resources around Gubeikou Great Wall in series, and interpreting the story of the Great Wall from multiple perspectives by combining the mountain patrol road and the city entrance road in the open section of Panlong Mountain Great Wall.
The General Building is the commanding height of the Great Wall in Panlong Mountain. The commentary board in the enemy platform tells the red history of the Great Wall in Gubeikou. In 1933, the first shot of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in Beijing was fired here, and the crib at the top of the enemy platform was completely destroyed by gunfire. Standing on the ancient Great Wall, tourists can hold up their mobile phones and scan the code, so they can explain the red story of the Great Wall through voice.
Since the end of April last year, Gubeikou Town has launched a series of research activities based on the Great Wall visit route. Up to now, "Gubeikou Research" has attracted more than 60,000 teachers and students from various institutions and groups to visit.
"When you climb the Great Wall, you feel the wisdom and tenacity of the ancients at every step." After attending the research activities, Jin Hang, a fifth-grade student, said that he had learned a lot about the Great Wall. "I want to remember history with my classmates and inherit the spirit of the Great Wall."
