How long can I stay in Thailand?

Blog / 11/08/2024

The validity period of visas is 3 months, with a maximum one-time stay of 1 month.

But if you apply for landing visa, the validity period is only 15 days. So if you want to take more days, you'd better get a visa from a travel agency in advance and then go there, instead of going to landing visa.

Expand information

1. The visa for Thailand is a official website document issued by Thailand as a sovereign country to people visiting Thailand from other countries. Unless the country has signed a visa-free agreement with Thailand, it must apply for a visa at the Thai embassy or consulate abroad before entering the country. At present, Thailand grants visa-free treatment to residents of 57 countries/regions.

2. According to the relevant laws and regulations of Thailand, those who stay in Thailand beyond the time limit will be fined 500 baht/day, with a maximum of 20,000 baht, and re-entry is prohibited for up to 10 years.

3. When I joined the Thai team of Zhongxin Tourism, we agreed to handle all landing visa, which required your return ticket+your passport+a visa fee of $25+a 2-inch bareheaded photo with a white background. Get the form, fill in the personal information, submit the materials at the window, take the number and wait for a good visa to be issued.

4. Citizens of all western countries are eligible for visa-free entry, but the eastern part of the European Union (Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Bulgaria, Malta and Cyprus) can apply for visas on arrival, although they need visas.

Theoretically speaking, a tourist visa allows you to stay for one month, but in fact, it depends on how long you can stay after the entry stamp on your passport.

It's my first time to go. After I entered the country, the border inspector stamped my passport with an entry stamp indicating that I could stay for 30 days. Later, I went there two or three times a year, and I went more. The border inspector saw that all my passports were tourist visas from Thailand, so I went again now. The same tourist visa, the allowed stay time indicated after my entry stamp was 45 days, and I accidentally got 60 days.

So anyway, you can stay for one month at the shortest and two months at the longest.
