Yulong Snow Mountain is a group of snow capped mountains
Yulong Snow Mountain is a group of snow-capped mountains in Lijiang City, Yunnan Province, bounded by Li (Jiang) Ming Highway in the east, Tiger Leaping Gorge in the west, Yuhu Lake in the south and Tiger Leaping Gorge in Daju in the north. It is located at 100 4 ′ 2 ″-100 16 ′ 30 ″ east longitude and 27 3 ′ 2 ″-27 18 ″ north latitude. The 13 peaks of the whole mountain are arranged vertically from south to north. The highest point of the main peak is 5596 meters above sea level, and the height of the snow line is between 4800 and 5000 meters. There are temperate marine glaciers closest to the equator in Eurasia.
Yulong Snow Mountain is called "Oulu" in Naxi language, which means "Tianshan Mountain". Its thirteen snow peaks are endless, just like a "dragon" leaping and dancing, so it is called "Yulong". Because its lithology is mainly limestone and basalt, black and white is distinct, so it is also called "black and white snow mountain". It is the sacred mountain of Naxi people, and it is said that the Naxi people are the embodiment of the "three flowers".
Yulong Snow Mountain is rich in natural and human resources. In 1984, Yunnan Yulong Snow Mountain Provincial Nature Reserve was established. In 2001, Yulong Snow Mountain was rated as a 4A-level tourist attraction. In May, 2007, Yulong Snow Mountain was rated as the first batch of 5A-level tourist attractions in China.
